This delicious Cheesy Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole is hearty and filling, and has a flavorful combination of all your favorite breakfast foods layered together into one delicious meal.
You simply cannot go wrong with the combination of sausage, eggs and cheese. Trust me, it will quickly become a family favorite! It’s the perfect lazy Saturday morning breakfast (or dinner).
It’s a great dish to prepare for a family brunch, Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays or even a work potluck.
One of the great things about this casserole is that it is super easy to make. You can prepare it on weekends when you aren’t in the mood to cook, but still want something yummy for your family to eat.
Or if you’ve had a busy day at work and need to get dinner on the table in a hurry, this casserole won’t disappoint.
This tater tot casserole can be prepared the night before or you can throw everything together in less than 10 minutes and bake.
How To Prepare Cheesy Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole
Ingredients:
1 lb Ground Sausage
8 Large Eggs
1 ½ Cups Half and Half
1 Small Onion, finely chopped
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
½ Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Black Pepper
2 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
16 oz Pkg Frozen Tater Tots
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 ℉.
2. In a medium skillet, cook ground sausage over medium heat until cooked thoroughly. Crumble into small pieces while cooking.
3. Remove skillet from heat, and drain excess grease from sausage. Set aside.
4. Grease a glass 9′ x 13′ baking dish with butter or cooking oil spray.
5. Spread the crumbled sausage along the bottom of the greased baking dish.
6. In a medium bowl whisk the eggs, half and half, onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper and half of the cheese until well combined.
7. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage in the baking dish.
8. Place frozen tater tots evenly over the top of sausage, egg and cheese mixture.
9. Top with remaining shredded cheese.
10. Bake for approximately 50 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
11. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Yes, it can. Assemble the ingredients completely in your baking dish. Wrap it well, and store up to 24 hours in the refrigerator. Remove from the refrigerator the next morning and let sit for about 30 minutes or until it becomes room temperature. Then simply place it in the oven to bake as directed.
