Pumpkin Spice Latte was first introduced by Starbucks in 2003, and has since become a staple of autumnal flavors.
The idea behind the Pumpkin Spice Latte came from the popularity of pumpkin pie during the Thanksgiving holiday. Starbucks wanted to create a drink that would capture the essence of this beloved dessert and bring it to the masses in a convenient yet delicious way.
The drink quickly became a hit and has since inspired many imitators and variations. Today, you can find Pumpkin Spice Lattes at coffee shops all over the world, each with their own unique take on the classic recipe.
Whether you prefer it hot or iced, with whipped cream or without, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is a perfect way to celebrate the season. And you’ll love the convenience of making it right at home!
Key Ingredients In A Pumpkin Spice Latte
Coffee/Espresso: I prefer using espresso because it adds a more robust flavor to the latte. But feel free to use your favorite coffee or espresso.
Milk: Whole milk helps add a creaminess to your drink. But you can use any type of milk you’d like.
Pumpkin Flavor: I used pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice to give this beverage a nice autumn flavor.
Sugar: I added 2 tablespoons of sugar to sweeten the pumpkin spice latte. Plus I added a teaspoon of vanilla extract to help bring out the sweetness in the latte.
Optional: Add a little (or a lot) of whipped cream on top for the perfect autumn beverage.
